Well, everyone else has wished Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, so I figured I'd be the first to wish everyone a Happy All Kings Day! Which is the start of a rather short Mardi Gras season this year. Man, I could go for a McKenzie's
King Cake right about now...
Anyway, work is still crazy, though it was quite nice to have the week off after Christmas. Got to spend some quality time with my family and friends. Managed to find out the hard way that Blackjack is a game of luck when I visited Fred, who was playing in the Orchestra for Beauty and the Beast at the Grand Casino in Biloxi. And on New Years Eve found out that Wild Turkey 101 can really sneak up on you...that extra 21 proof is dangerous...but still oh so good.
I had some of the most emotional football watching for me the past weekend too - I've never been much into football, but for some reason this year I got a little more into it - maybe it was the watching the Saints games at
Shoal Creek Saloon, or the fact that the school I really wanted to go to (Auburn) was kicking some ass, or maybe it was just playing Madden on the Gamecube that did it...ok, that was alot of maybes, so maybe it was a combination of all of the above. Anyway, only real dissapointment was LSU - the last minute of that game was nuts.
So its time to start looking forward to the Janus ball! After missing it last year for a buddy's wedding, I'm ready to make up for it this year! It looks like there's going to have a bunch of friends coming, so it should be a blast!
Oh, and anybody have suggestions for things to see in Italy? I'm planning my trip there in April - going to visit Jenn and Wayne, who are living in Rome - gonna be there for 3 weeks! My first real vacation since I started IBM 4 years ago...
And one last thing... I was crowned, for the second time in 5 years, the King of Super Smash Brothers at this year's Annual Lakeview Invitational... ask if you really want to know ;)
