Been a While...

I kinda fell behind with my bloggin' efforts, so here's me trying to catch up.

IBM threw a formal party for all of the employee's who worked on the Squadrons line of servers (which I do!). Downtown Hilton grand ballroom, lots of yummy food, and as much craps and blackjack you could ask for. Anyway, here are the pictures from the "Squadrons Prom". I then got sent to Poughkeepsie, NY for two weeks to support the manufacturing line for the project I've been working on the past 9 months - it is finally for sale and shipping to customers - YAAY! Time to get my life back, but that's a subject for another day... Though I worked myself literally into physical exhaustion (its fun supporting a manufacturing floor that has 3 shifts of people working!), I was able to break away for a couple hours to go check out the Orange County Choppers showroom (the motorcycles from the Discovery Channel show American Chopper). Pretty cool - and I got to see Paul Sr. driving down the street in his H2 - always fun spotting a celebrity in person! Anyway, here are my pics from the visit. Once my tour of duty was finished, I stayed an extra day and took the train to NYC to wander around. I went to Central Park and saw "The Gates" and took lots of pictures . At first, I was appalled, and thought the gates were just an ugly clash with nature, but the sheer number of them was amazing. Bizarre - me appreciating art.

And the requisite motorhead comments (for you Richard!) - I made some progress on fixing up the interior on the Vette - painted and installed some of the trim pieces around the windshield. Hope to have it finished soon to enjoy it a bit before trying to sell it. On the biking front - I took the Harley on my first real cruise with Victor, Jorge and Naomi a week ago. What can I say - its just a cool feeling - you, the open road, wind in your face, rumble of the motor - good times.

This past weekend was entertaining - LeeAnne (Chad's college friend) was in town visiting. She's spent the past few years as a crew member on, for lack of a better term, vintage style sailboats , 1800's design. She's got some crazy stories, on top of just being, shall we say, an interesting individual on her own ;)

Nice pics, and thanks for the car update. I wish I could take a ride in that Vette before you sell it.

I wouldn't worry about it - I'll most likely turn around and get another Vette soon after selling this one :) Just can't easily fit 2 Vette's and a Harley in the garage...
